Kingdom Focus
April 7, 1994
Keep seeking first My kingdom (Matthew 6:33). Let it occupy your heart and mind (Matthew 22:37; Proverbs 4:20,21). Focus your attention on My Word, praise, rejoicing, love, and giving. Walk on in these things. Hold on to Me in the midst of this world. The things I reveal to you are for you to walk in. It is from Me. My words are not new. My ideas are not new, but they are different from the thoughts of this world.
Love not your life nor riches nor things (1 John 2:15-17). Don’t be entangled in their yoke and bondage. Don’t let the pull of the world slow you down (Hebrews12:1). Don’t let what people think affect you. Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Listen to My Spirit. Obey His unctions; obey the promptings. You know His voice; obey it the first time. Never be afraid of something that sounds different if I show it to you in the Word. If it lines up with My kingdom principles of love and giving, and ministers peace, then do it. Don’t hesitate in fear of man or of making a mistake. I’ll not lead you astray.
This is a new generation. You are entering into covenant life, embarking on a new journey with Me. It is a new work I’m doing in you and those around you. It’s happening to all those who are attentive to My word, My ways, and My kingdom. You are not lazy when you work for Me and My kingdom. Farmers are not lazy, but diligent to what needs to be done at certain times: sometimes to plant, to water, to weed, to cultivate, to wait and to harvest. But there is always work to be done. So it is in My kingdom. If you will work for Me, I will pay you. Not as this world is in delivering payment; I will reward you (Psalm 19:7). Where can you find life, health and peace? Only from Me and My kingdom.
Love Me. I will give you good things to enjoy. Remember My words, that I’ll never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8). Don’t be concerned if it looks as though you’re not doing anything or going anywhere. You are as long as you are diligent to hearken to My voice. You won’t realize how much you are being changed.
Matthew 6:33 AMP
But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Matthew 22:37 NCV
Jesus answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’
Proverbs 4:20,21 Voice
My son, pay attention to all the words I am telling you.
Lean in closer so you may hear all I say.
21 Keep them before you; meditate on them;
set them safely in your heart.
1 John 2:15-17 MSG
Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.
Hebrews 12:1,2a NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus.
Romans 12:21 TLB
Don’t let evil get the upper hand, but conquer evil by doing good.
Psalms 19:11 CEV
By your teachings, Lord, I am warned; by obeying them, I am greatly rewarded.
Deuteronomy 31:8 LEB
Yahweh is the one going before you; he will be with you, and he will not leave you alone, and he will not forsake you; you shall not be afraid, and you shall not be discouraged.
