Respond in Faith

January 9, 2009

Fill your heart with good things.

Pause frequently and dwell on the good.

Trust more and worry less; I’ll not fail you.

You are doing the work of My kingdom and I will support you. Do not respond to people’s anger. You have allowed yourself to be programmed to respond to others’ fear and anger. No more. Pray this now:

“Lord, I repent of allowing myself to respond more to fear of others than fear of you (Proverbs 29:25). I repent of responding and being programmed to fear rather than faith. I ask you now to break this power over my life, to help me be reprogramed to respond in faith, by faith, and to faith. I will no longer be moved by fear, but I will recognize it and rebuke it. Thank you, Father, for your word, which is spirit and life (John 6:63), and that your word planted within me has the power (Hebrews 4:12) to change my thinking, attitudes and reactions. Thank you, Father, that fear has no hold on me, in Jesus name.”

Now read and say aloud this prayer daily for at least one week. Be diligent to hearken to My words to you. They are not meaningless news, like reading the newspaper. They are your guide, the salvation of your soul. Pause. Take frequent pauses. You will thrive as you obey my instructions.

Don’t be hurrying and worrying - but rather

Be lingering and pondering.

Proverbs 29:25 (LEB)

The fear of a person will lay a snare, but he who trusts in Yahweh will be secure.

John 6:63 (NET)

The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

Hebrews 4:12 (NTE)

God’s word is alive, you see! It’s powerful, and it’s sharper than any double-edged sword. It can pierce right in between soul and spirit, or joints and marrow; it can go straight to the point of what the human heart is thinking, or intends to do.

Philippians 4:6-8 (MSG)

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.
