Fruitful living
April 6, 2011
Stay in touch with your heart, meaning your born-again spirit, and live from there, from your born-again recreated spirit. Do not live from your soul: your mind, will, and emotions, that come and go, and fluctuate with circumstances.
Most people, even in the church, live by their mind and/or emotions. Being led by your mind is all about duty. The mind is a driven task master. Your mind always can think up one more thing to add to your to do list. No, not your mind in the lead. Duty living is also different than disciplined living. Disciplined living is living within healthy limits. Duty living will push you towards exhaustion. Emotional living makes for little stability and a lot of gossip and complaining. It is never too late to train yourself to live subject to your spirit, which is born-again with power from on high and filled with My Holy Spirit.
These are the ways you know you are being led by your spirit: you are moved with compassion and there is a stability in your life. The fruit of the Spirit-life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. Spirit-led living looks like Jesus life. He was on the move, but stopped frequently for those who came to Him, cried out to Him, those who touched Him, or those He saw. He was on the move, but the goal was not just about His destination. It was Acts 10:38. “He went about doing good…..for God was with Him.” This is a whole new way of living for someone who has lived with emotions and mind leadership, but the peace and joy are worth every bit of the discipline involved to learn to live with Holy Spirit leading. Keep on keeping on.

The fruit of the Spirit is your evidence that you are living after the Spirit. If you are not experiencing or exhibiting love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control then you are not fully living from your spirit. A huge key to living from your spirit is to see Me as bigger than any problem or circumstance, to see My Word as the last word in a given situation. My promises are where your mind must dwell, not the problem or the pressures.
Galatians 5:22,23 (Voice)
22 The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit: unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindheartedness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. You won’t find any law opposed to fruit like this.
Acts 10:38 (Voice)
You know God identified Jesus as the uniquely chosen One by pouring out the Holy Spirit on Him, by empowering Him. You know Jesus went through the land doing good for all and healing all who were suffering under the oppression of the evil one, for God was with Him.
Colossians 3:2 TPT
Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.
Hebrews 12:2 TPT
We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!
