Morning Star
That experience confirmed or brought to life the Old Testament prophecies. I so believe that this is what God wants to do in our lives today. He wants to shine His light into our lives in a way that confirms the words about Him. The blinding light and the voice they heard at the transfiguration of Jesus confirmed the Old Testament messages and prophecies, taking the disciples from maybe to I know and I believe this is the Messiah.
God shines His light into the darkness, into my darkness, to bring His light so that I may know:
He is real,
I am His,
I have His guidance, and
I am not alone.
This light is not just external though; it is to rise in my own heart. It’s not only like the sun that shines on a beautiful day and helps me see clearly and warms my body and causes food to grow; this light also rises inside me bringing:
hope for the future,
peace of mind and heart,
and an assurance of God’s love and presence.

Until the morning star arises in your heart (2 Peter 1:19)……What do you long for the morning star to place in your heart? Each person has longings, deep spiritual longings in their heart. Those longings are met in My presence (Psalm 107:9) or attempted to be met by everything else in life.
Godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6). What does that mean? To encounter Me so that light is brought to your very being. Not rule-following-I-am-trying-to-be-good holiness. Not that, but rather God encountering godliness that lights up and changes your very being (Isaiah 60:1), an encounter with God that helps you to become more like God.
Encounters with Me will shift your focus from a love of the things of this world (1 John 2:15) to a love, an adoration of Me, the Creator, your Creator. It helps to simplify your life: from chasing after fleeting things to pursuing eternal treasures, from a focus on gathering goods and materials to a focus on gathering people, from a focus on acquisition of goods to a more benevolent distribution of all you have. Encountering Me helps you become, enables you to become new, clean, clear (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Anxiety gives way to peace and hope and joy (Romans 15:13).
Anger dissipates as love moves in.
Awkwardness is replaced by confidence and courage and compassion.
Apathy is replaced by purpose, a focus for your life, and a true sense of destiny.
Addiction’s power is broken. God encounters break the power of the addiction, no matter what the substance of addiction is.

We have a fuller confirmation of the message of the prophets. You would do well to pay close attention to this word; it is like a light that shines for you in the darkness of night until the day dawns when the morning star rises in your own hearts.

Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.
